Kogi Central Senatorial aspirant, Alhaji Yakubu Oseni has promised to align with the concerted efforts being made by Governor Yahaya Bello to revive Ajaokuta Steel Company.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Sunday after a meeting organized by Ebira People’s Assembly (EPA) to promote peace during elections in Kogi Central.
Oseni stated that the revival of the steel company is beyond the rhetoric some aspirants are latching upon as campaign tool.
The executive chairman of Kogi Internal Revenue Service said he will lobby other senators in the National Assembly to ensure effective legislation is worked upon to enable the executive arm of government revive the ailing steel company in no distant time.
He commended Governor Bello for his relentless efforts to ensure Ajaokuta Steel Company is revived.
The senate aspirant explained that his aspiration is in response to the clarion call from his people who believe he is a tested and tested hand.
He disclosed that aside facilitating life-touching constituency projects to Kogi Central, youth and women empowerment will be his main focus if elected into the senate.
“I am not in anyway trying to indicting anybody but I know what people have done with constituency projects. I am prepared to something different.
“Youths and women empowerment are my key areas of concentration if elected into the senate. An idle hand is the devil’s workshop, so I will initiate programmes aimed at taking idle youths off the street. I will empower them for white and blue collar jobs,” he said.
He expressed confidence about the 2019 general elections, saying he will win with ease.
