Atai Aidoko Ali Continuity Group has denied allegations that Senator Aidoko is planning to alter the list of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates from Kogi State.

In a statement signed by Idris Yakubu, the group described the allegations as unfounded, malicious and a grand plan to create mischief.

He warned those he described as “overzealous individuals, who now found PDP as their new abode, not to overheat the process leading to the party primaries at all levels”.

“If it is not a mole at work, why is it is only in PDP that needless crises is been orchestrated by groups of non committed party members who want to reap where they did not sow and creating uneasy calm within the party?

“All this needless crises been sponsored by some PDP aspirants with inordinate ambition will not augur well to retain the position of the Senate that was fought for and won with all determination and dedication.

“Is PDP the only party that is likely to tinker with consensus or automatic ticket? What about the APC that is the ruling party and have indulged in imposition of candidates and indirect primaries and persecution of candidates, yet the complains and upheavals are minimal? We need to be careful so that we don’t have repetition of what is currently happening in Kogi state here in Kogi East.

“Once bitten, twice shy. No matter the damaging media sponsorship and publication against him, Senator Atai Aidoko Ali remains one of the front runners in the race. We will not allow people who have contributed immensely to the suffering of our people by subtly supporting the current administration to now turn round as the messiah of the Igala race when the chips are down.

“In 2015, the same set of Igala people positioned themselves to run down one aspirant against the other without the fear of God. Today, the current economic, social and political problems in Kogi East have been their contrivance but suddenly they have retracted and take another position. We urge the Igala race to be careful this time around

“If the target to remove the current senator is our priority in Kogi East, then we have gotten it wrong because whether we like it or not, the senator remains the pillar of PDP in Kogi East and the state.

“This is an aspirant of PDP that have relied on the judicial interpretation to wrest Kogi East Senate seat from a candidate of the ruling party APC, in spite of all odds. Yet, we have not observed in our wisdom the roles and patriotic disposition of the same personality, only to resort to all political and well crafted crises to revert the area to the old order,” he said.

Yakubu insisted that, regardless of all manners of publications, Senator Atai Aidoko Ali will not mortgage the interest of the entire Igala/Bassa race on the altar of cheap blackmail and unholy political connivance as he is undaunted, unperturbed and committed to the project of liberating Kogi East from the new set of ungodly leaders both in the state and the area.

“The decision to bring anybody on board apart from Senator Aidoko will be regrettable as our common wealth and entitlements will be reverted to family assets, concubine cocoon, flamboyant and ostentatious living against the welfare of the people of Kogi East.”

He urged the self installed caucus to support the return of Senator Aidoko for a better development and genuine political emancipation.
