The leadership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has described as false, the claims by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state that its members would be defecting to its fold on Sunday.

The SDP in a statement issued on Saturday by its secretary, Barrister Abraham Paul described the APC’s claim as misleading and lack any iota of truth.

According to him, the Social Democratic Party which has inaugurated both the state and local government executives recently, remained  strong and firmly together with an agenda to take  over the Kogi government house comes 2019 governorship election.

“We are firmly together; we have an agenda which is to take over Lugard House the seat of government comes 2019 governorship election in the state.

“This claim by the ruling party  that SDP, PDP,  ADC and ADP will decamp to APC tomorrow can best be described as false and deliberately arranged to deceive President Buhari or Adams Oshiomole to prove to them that the party is on ground.

“The claim is an imagination. The APC in Kogi state has since lost the supports of the people because of their abysmal performance and nobody is joining the party in Kogi state because APC is the most unpopular party in the state”, he said.

While calling on the SDP members to disregard the allegation,  Barrister Paul disclosed that the screening exercise for its aspirants vying for various positions comes up on September 19th, 2018.
