6 Killed as Cultists Invade Kogi Community

No fewer than six persons have been killed by some suspected cultists on Thursday night in Dekina local government council of Kogi State.

Daily Post reliably gathered on Friday that the attack occurred at about 10pm, at Anyigba as some cultists invaded some residential places shooting sporadically.

According to sources, six persons were killed during the clash between cult members.

It was also gathered that the victims were gunned down at various places in the community.

According to the source, one person was reportedly killed at Ofejikpi, one at Kaduna Efekpe, two at Anwa Muslumi, one at Ijebu-ode and one at Ofeko Anyigba.

It was further confirmed that the attack was more of revenge following an attack on some members of a particular cultist some times ago.

According to the source, those killed were mainly students of the State University who are also members of another cult group.

Meanwhile, fully armed military men have been deployed to Anyigba community to maintain peace in the area.

However, when our correspondent called on the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, Mr. William Ayah for confirmation, he said he was yet to be briefed by the DPO of Anyigba.
