Stop Gagging Opposition in Kogi, Accord Party Warns Gov. Bello

The Accord Party in Kogi State has warned Governor Yahaya Bello to stop gagging opposition parties but rather conduct local government election to test his popularity among the people in the State.
The new chairman of the party, Honourable Alhassan Adakeke, who stated this at the inauguration of the party new executives in Lokoja called on the electorates to use their permanent voters card (PVC) to vote APC out of power in 2019.
Honourable Adakeke who expressed his displeasure in the manner Governor Bello is running the affairs of the state noted that,  “the people are not happy especially with the issues of under development, non payment of salaries, deplorable state of our health sector,  and high level of unemployment.
“We are urging this government to free the space of political development and participation. The idea of gagging politicians,  electorates,  will seize as this will enable the people decide on who will govern them.”
He called on the ruling party to learn from past mistake where imposition of candidate never yielded positive results.
He however described the recent extension of local government committee tenure as an abuse of legislative procedure.
Honourable Adakeke challenged the current administration to conduct local government election to see if they are popular in the state.
Also speaking, the immediate past chairman of the party Deacon Fred Ambo explained that Kogite has lost confidence on the leadership of the ruling party.
He said they are out to rescue the people from the untold hardship which has characterized the administration of the present government in the last two years.
While warning the current leadership to stop stage managing local government election in Kogi state,  Deacon Ambo further called on all opposition parties to come together if they must rescue power from the APC led government.
