Over seven people were feared dead today at Oganenigu Aloko in Dekina local government area of Kogi state when suspected herdsmen invaded the area.
It was gathered that the herdsmen numbering up to five hundred invaded the area shooting sporadically at the residents.
It was learnt that half of the villagers have left their homes for safety.
In a reaction the Police public relations officer Kogi state, William Aya confirmed the attack but stated that the number of casualties could not be ascertained yet.
He however said the situation was under control as police personnel had been drafted to the area.
