Ejilogu Club, a socio-cultural organisation in Ankpa, has berated their son, Senator Abdulrahman Abubakar (Abdul Railway) over his latest return to Appeal court to seek for reinstatement on Kogi East senator.
The club, in a statement in Ankpa after the yearly meeting, stated that it will not toe the same line of some people who ‎have resolved to destabilise Kogi East and deny the people access to federal presence.
Alhaji ‎Nuhu Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of the club, said the judgment of the Supreme court on the contentious senate seat was unambiguous.
He said the decision of the former senator is self service, greed and ill conceived with intent to retard the progress of the area.
‎Mohammed wondered why the struggle for a position that had eaten into half of the term is still raging on under bitter litigation.
He appealed to the two abrupt senators to allow the incumbent occupant of the seat to deliver on people’s mandate
“Under the current senator the people of the area have benefited from the construction of motorised and solar powered boreholes scattered all over the area, renovation of schools, construction of clinics and skill acquisition centres,‎ as well as other social activities to the benefit of the communities,” he said.
He said the distraction caused by litigations in the last two and half years is enough as the current senator, Atai Aidoko Ali will attract ‎more social amenities from the SDGs were he is currently serving as Senate committee chairman.
He restated the commitment of the club to support any igala indigene that eventually find him or herself in top positions, not minding his extraction.
He advised the claimants to the Kogi East Senate seat not to take advantage of the current trend, saying under a robust political terrain, their candidacy will not attract people’s acceptance because of tainted records and lack of zeal to develop their immediate communities
