‎Relief for Kogi Workers: Aidoko Donates Initial 70 Bags of Rice, Pledge to Do More

Senator representing Kogi East, Atai Aidoko Alhas promised to do more for the people of the state particularly workers at all levels that have not been paid salaries for a while.
‎Aidoko dropped this hint after the plenary on Tuesday were senators at the 8th Assembly donated over 1000 bags of rice to Kogi workers to assist them during the on-going four weeks old strike. On his part, he donated 90 bags of rice.
He said the gesture was not part of his normal constituency projects but in sympathy to the plight of ‎workers who had dedicated themselves to the services of the state without adequate response from state government.
Senator Aidoko assured the people of the state and workers to exercise patience with the current dispensation as the dynamics of democratic process will soon prove itself in the shortest possible time.
He said the current situation in the state is unfortunate for Kogians and stakeholders. He wondered what the state government is doing with statutory monthly allocations.
He appealed to members of the lower house to also show concern to the issue of Kogi workers by donating food stuffs as the government of Kogi had resorted to threatening workers with of sack.
