Arrangement has been concluded to empower 50 people across the fifteen wards in Kabba/Bunu Constituency by the Honourable Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Kabba/Bunu State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mathew Kolawole.
Disclosing this over the weekend in a stakeholder meeting held at his residence in Kabba, the Speaker said it has become imperative for him to reach out to as many people as possible in other to ameliorate the suffering of the people.
According to him, due to the limited resources available at his disposal, he has instructed the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the constituency to forward 3 names per ward for his empowerment initiatives that is expected to commence as soon as possible.
He further said that 5 other people within the local government area would also benefit from the gesture, noting that this is done in order to support the people at the time the country is just coming out of recession, hence they need to be empowered which will at the end enhance the economic activities of the people.
He urged the party stakeholders to continue to have faith in the leadership of the party at both the national and state levels, noting that the success recorded in the security sector of the state is not without the political will of the Governor who leave no stone unturned at ensuring crime free state.
The Speaker suggested that there should be ward toll across the fifteen wards in the local government area, as it will afford the leadership of the party to see things by themselves at the ward level.
He advised the party executives at the local government to secure another befitting office apartment for the ruling party in the state, urging other appointees to contribute certain percentage of their salary to fund the party activities at the area council.
He noted that the ward toll will be rounded up with defection program of the new members from other parties to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kabba/Bunu.
While the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd) commended the party faithfuls for their commitment and dedication to the party under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello.
He said the meeting has become imperative in other to create an opportunity for feedback from the people at the grassroots, stressing that such gathering will strengthen the party in the local government.
At the end Hon. Wemi Jones was selected as the Chairman of a seven member committee to organize the ward toll and defection program.

Elisha Olorunmosunle, Honourable Commissioner for Agric, Hon Kehinde Oloruntoba, Administrator of Kabba/Bunu, Hon Moses Olorunleke, Pastor Emmanuel Ajinuhi, Hon. Kunle Jagun, SSA Security and Intelligence, Hon. Gabriel Ojo, Special Adviser to the Honourable Speaker on Political Matters, Local Government party executives, ward chairmen and other party faithful.
