Gubernatorial hopeful under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Joseph Erico Ameh yesterday predicted a brighter future for Kogi State. He said that Kogi will make quicker progress towards the fulfilment of its great potentials as a State if its citizens foster peace, security and stability.
In his sallah message on the occasion of the Muslims’ festival of Eid-El-Kabir, Erico said, “Kogi will make quicker progress towards the fulfilment of its great potentials as a State if its citizens foster peace, security and stability which are essentials for development by showing greater respect for national safety and public order”.
He congratulated all Muslims in Kogi State who successfully performed the Hajj this year in fulfilment of a key injunction of their faith. He also urged Kogi people to imbibe the lessons of commitment, dedication and obedience to higher authority inherent in Prophet Ibraheem’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to the will of God which Eid-El-Kabir commemorates.
He further urged Muslims to use the occasion to strengthen the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria at large and more particularly in Kogi State.
“To our Pilgrims in the Holy Land, I pray fervently that your ibadat will be accepted as you continue in your spiritual journeys towards the fulfilment of the pilgrimage rites”, he said.
He called on Muslims to unite in prayers for a responsible government in Kogi State come 2019. They should pray towards the attainment of our collective objectives of a greater Kogi. We should also use this medium to pray for Igala Unity in the 2019 Elections.
