Deputy Majority Leader of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has expressed to Governor Yahaya Bello on the reconstruction of Ankpa township road.
Ahmed, who was accompanied by Speaker Kolawole Mathew on a tour of projects in his constituency, called on Governor Bello to remain focused.
He equally thanked the Governor for the ongoing construction on Ankpa-Ejegbo-Emere road.
“I have a message from the people of Ankpa 1 constituency, to send their warmest regards to his excellency the executive governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for carrying out a project that has been at their heart for long, a project that is one of the major fulcrum of the economic activities in Ankpa, a project that was abandoned for years by previous administration and has been a death trap to my people, the Ankpa township road.
“Rt. Hon. Speaker, you may recall that on the 15th may 2016, when I first resumed plenary at the hallow chamber, the first motion I moved was on Ankpa township road. This is because it is one of the major challenges of my people. A committee was set up to carry out an On-the-spot assessment on these road and we submitted our report. In his zeal and passion to deliver the dividend of democracy to the people of Kogi state and to Ankpa LGA, this road, among other roads were captured in the new direction blueprint. Today as I speak to you, work is fully ongoing and last week when the Rt. Hon speaker and the Majority leader visited Ankpa to celebrate my birthday with me, they can testify to this because we all inspected the road.
“I want to also appreciate his Excellency for the completion of the Ankpa/Ejegbo/Emere road in Ankpa 1 constituency. This is also one major project that touches the heart of my people. The Rt. Hon speaker, the entire people of Ankpa are unanimously saying thank you to Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for theses projects he has commenced and completed in some communities”, he said.
