Freedom of speech is the right to articulate one’s opinions and ideas without fear of government retaliation or censorship, or societal sanction as stated by federal constitution.

Article 19 in the ICCPR further explain this by stating that the exercise of these rights carries “special duties and responsibilities”
Therefore, freedom of speech and expression may not be recognized as being absolute, and common limitations to freedom of speech relate to “libel”, “slander” , “obscenity” , “false allegations”, “sedition” “incitement” , , copyright violation, public security threat and “perjury”.
The arrest of Astin Okai could be the good, the bad and the ugly measure to curb media spurious.
False allegations become a treat to integrity, mr Okai should use this as a great opportunity to tender his evidence if any to convince the people of kogi state and Nigeria at large that ‘
Gov. Yahaya Bello of kogi state is having a love affair with Nigeria first lady Aisha Buhari the wife of our beloved President as he claimed, secondly, Mr Austin Okai should as a matter of interest to all and safety of his beloved citizens of kogi state tell the world the snipers/assassins that Gov. Yahaya Bello trained and scheduled for killing PDP leaders and Igala’s ethnicity in kogi state as he claimed he knows them and have a lot of evidence to justify himself in one of his report on media,…… I think this is a great chance for our dear Mr Austin Okai to prove himself to people of kogi and Nigeria @ large that he is not guilty of the recent arrest carried out against him by the special anti-robbery squad ‘SARS’ , Nigerians are watching, the world is watching, the era of impunity is a forgone in our dear society.
