Igalamela Community Stakeholders have commended Governor Yahaya Bello for nominating Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni as minister to replace late James Ocholi SAN.
Chairman of the group, Mallam Shaibu Amodu, at a press conference in NUJ Press Center, Lokoja to hailed Governor Bello for being detribalised.
He said the Igalamela community is exceedingly grateful to President Muhammadu Buhari for reposing huge confidence in their illustrious son, Professor Ocheni, by sending his name to the National Assembly for clearance to become a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We are aware of your dogged fight against corruption and your unwavering commitment to give a new face to governance in the country. We sincerely believe or son, Professor Steven Ikani Ocheni, fits into youe style of governance,” he said.
The spokesman of the community called on the stakeholders in Kogi State to join hands and support the nominee and push for his subsequent confirmation to fill the quota of the state at the Federal level.
Earlier, former chairman of the Kogi State chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Ali Atabor explained that the people of Igalamela community, irrespective of their political differences gathered to commend the President for his choice of Professor Ocheni as minister.
He said the large turnout for the press conference is a testimony that the ministerial nominee has the support and backing of the good people of Kogi State.
