We have witnessed untold hardships and suffering in Kogi State brought upon our citizens by the present Government  in Kogi State as evidenced by the un-ending staff verification exercise lasting for over a year now!

We no doubt have a serious challenge staring  us in the face more dangerously than the outside is aware of,to the ridiculous extend that  if we don’t cry out to the world for  urgent awareness, we may be in for the worst Kogi people have seen since the State was created.
The Kogi State Government has established an unlawful Police station inside Government house in Lokoja where our citizens are currently being arbitrarily detained without trial.
A former Council Vice Chairman of Okene LGA, Hon Usman Okorongo has been in detention since Sunday night on the order of  Governor Bello without trial by this unlawful Police outfit. In addition, they sent out invitation letter to others to appear before them in Lokoja. (See the letter).
The detained former Vice Chairman was invited to a meeting last sunday evening by the Governor in company of other elders from the general okovi clan(s) from Okene and at the end of the said meeting the Governor was alleged to have ordered Mr Okorongo’s unlawful arrest and detention. This arrest is ideally to warrant the accused being properly investigated should have have been done by the CP office, instead of the private Government house illegal Police office. This is the picture of our dear State at the moment ! Where a Governor can establish a police station inside Government house.
Family Lawyers on behalf of the detained man has been battling with this illegal Police team since yesterday for his either prosecution or outright release without success!
See the attached invitation letter given to another Elder from Okene, Hon Alhassan.
Hon Alhassan is a former councillor in Okene many years ago.
According to some other impeccable sources, there are other not easily identifiable detainees in the cell of this illegal police Station

– Rt. Hon Abdullahi Bello
Former Speaker at Kogi State House of Assembly.
