The Kogi State House of Assembly today in her usual responsiveness and zeal, passed the 2017 Appropriation bill into law. The budget which was submitted on the 22nd of December, 2016 tagged budget of New Direction is aimed at rapidly springing the state into massive infrastructural and human capital development was passed after rigorous drills on the heads of the various ministries by the assembly under the leadership of RT. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam.
The speedy passage of the budget is highly commendable as this is for the best interest of the state and her people and we are glad the assembly in its foresight saw the need and did the needful passing the budget into law for the general interest of the state.
We wish to commend the Assembly under the leadership of the House for a wonderful job done in ensuring that the social-economic revamping of the state will be achieved through the quick passage of the bill. However, the other balls are still within the court of the assembly to ensure adequate oversight and strict monitoring for good service delivery for the betterment of us all.
We want to use this medium to restate our trust in the assembly under the leadership of RT Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam that every penny in this budget will be put where necessary.
