Honourable Friday Sani Makama, member representing Igalamela/Odolu state constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, has distanced himself from a newspaper report that claimed that the entire members of the Assembly passed a vote of confidence on the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

Makama made this known to journalists yesterday in his country home Odolu while watching his team play in a tournament he organized for youth across Igala land.
He told the journalists that he was not aware of any vote of confidence passed. He said the claim is just a mere concoction by the executive arm using paid newspapers to smear the rising profile of the institution as sacred as the Kogi State House of Assembly.
According to him, he and his progressive minded colleagues in the house woke up early morning yesterday to see on the pages of newspaper that they had passed a vote of confidence on Gov Bello.
“For where?”, he queried.
“Is it in government house or in Abuja where they normally go to do their owambe while our workers wallow in starvation, disease and death?”

Refuting the publication, Makama reiterates that he can never take part in such conspiracy to undermine the nobility and integrity of civil servants in the state who have not been paid their salaries for over a year and as well, no member of the house with a known integrity can take part in such demonic act against the good people of his constituency and Kogi State in general.
He concluded that there was no way any sane mind or institution as sacred as the Kogi State House of Assembly will pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of the executive arm that has reduced her workers to starvation, disease and death for non payment of salaries with series and stringent audit exercise for over a year.
