A socio-cultural group, Ojuju Agbadufu Igala, Abuja chapter has written a five paged letter to the Inspector General of Police, the Director General Department of State Security on the threat to life of the family of late political patriarch, Prince Abubakar Audu, particularly the son Prince Mohammed Audu.
The body, while reeling out the unfolding scenario, urged the police and DSS to protect the lives of the family of the former governor from threat of assassination from Kogi state government as his arrest, detention and trial was politically motivated.
The Igala group in the letter said, “to be forewarned is to be fore armed hence the need for the letter as the state government has a penchant to silence opposition through several attempted assassination”.
“The uncertainty surrounding the ascension of Bello and the ‎unpredictable supreme court ruling and the rising profile of the son of the late icon, Prince Mohammed Audu with fear of his likelihood to step into his father’s shoes is responsible for the current onslaught against him by the state government”, the body said.
“It will be recalled that at the heat of tribunal hearing, there was an attempt to assassinate the immediate former governor, Capt Idris wada who served the state to the best of his ability and knowledge”
The body asked the police and DSS to fortify security apparatus and arrangement around Mohammed Audu and his father’s political empire so as to be insulated from any harassment and attempt murder by any agents of kogi government.
It urged the two security agencies to take the matter serious as desperate moves has pervaded all round kogi state and outside in a bit to silence any rising politician.
