I call it imbroglio because it is a terrible phase in the life of the biggest party in this part of the continent, and coming too soon, almost back-to-back to the terrific news of 2015 Presidential loss!
I will try to get real-time in the sense of leaving theories and prayers to field happenings which points to the fact that the Deputy Senate President Ekweremadu Committee set up immediately after the loss of 2015, probably only succeeded in saying, where the party “must zone” what to ahead of 2019! Beyond that, they did more of either mere bulk passing and keeping events swept under the carpet in the name of NOBODY’S FAULT or GO AND SIN NO MORE!
In my write up to same committee which never got attended to; I THINK, I expressly stated that “PDP VOTED PDP OUT” in protest to long consistent suppression and oppression from within by enforced / imposed / imported non-people’s true leaders, who had turn the PDP to their personal estates.
An example of this, was displayed by Mrs Anthony Anenih at the Senator Mantu chaired PDP Stakeholders Summit is Abuja, when she authoritatively said, “We know the owners of PDP, we own the PDP” and her position was further corroborated by likes of the late Ojo Madueke in his closing brief, Prof Adeyeye, Professor Jerry Gana just to mention but a few.
Off course, she is right, if in the PDP; a husband is an ambassador, and the wife a minister, is she not right? if another husband is in BOT and another women leader, is she not right? If a husband is a President and the daughter a Senator, is she not right? If a father is a founder or co-founder and the daughter in the House of Reps, is she not right? If a man wins primaries and it was unilaterally changed to another, is she not right? If the time allowed to buy forms for the aspirant is closed and screening is going on and on the instruction of a man, the form was reopened and sold to another, is she not right?
Fundamentally, if all former ministers are being picked for trial one after the other from Oduah Stella, to Fani Kayode, to Adeniran and co, then I as a devout PDP member has a reason to be afraid to entrust them with my MANDATE and SAFETY OF PARTY IDENTITY!
For the records, I don’t know Modu Sheriff to date in person or by communication, but I said it clearly, if there are no FRESH HANDS who are not GUILTY of our FAILURE IN 2015 to lead the PDP, I will not be comfortable bieng led by the likes of Fani Kayode, who only recently got docked again after telling PDP to APOLOGISE to Buhari! safe for the Raymond Dokpesi who is facing cases of Lion of Jewel from Tinubu and Dansugate Fraud charge with Buhari’s EFCC, the Mantus and Jerrys who lost both Niger State and Plateau States respectively to cap thier Presidential banging having played serious roles in that campaign, the Kashamus and ex-prisoner Bode George who grilled in the painlessness of Ogun and Lagos trashings to crown the unexplainable Presidential disgrace, hence, I will rather stick to Modu Sheriff a relatively new person in the PDP with fund, boldness and Northern links to scuttle APCs north-inhibits next move as a well groomed chess player and realist
If Modu is a suspect of working with APC! What then is the suspicion of all these people standing trials! Who is more likely to trade with the PDP? Is Buhari Modus father! if PDP chooses Modu as its Presidential flag bearer today, will Modu step down for Buhari, because they are INLAWS? No one has bieng able to answer that question or is there a law in the North that says, you cant contest an election with your in-law!
Fellow PDP members, away from all these, which like you, if you have opposing views to my stand with Modu or a fresh hand to run the PDP, you are obviously entitled to it, but we must remember that there must be a MEETING POINT- ground zero!, and that point is where PDP MUST NOT FAIL, already the crisis is threatening us in Edo and Ondo States. Are we going to insist on war? Aren’t we going to learn from the contending women in the Bible who were fighting over a child, and one say cut the baby to two equal pieces and the wise one, obviously the owner said, NO KING, LET HER HAVE THE BABY INSTEAD.
Only recently, I granted and interview to Leadership after the earlier one with the Tribune condemning Modus parralel primary in Edo State, I am not a blind follower, hence, I did not fail to point out that those people used in Edo State, were not manufactured or sponsored to Edo from Birni, they are Edo PDP members, meaning “everybody get him people everywhere” (stealing from the legend afro beat king, fela anikulapo kuti)
The new order:
Like some people rightly observed, TWO WRONGS DONT MAKE A RIGHT and will never make a right.
The Markafi group is wrongly enthroned going by PDP Constitution of 2012, Notice was not given in compliance with the Constitution on Amendment to bring in Caretaker, which eventually produced Markafi to appease the amalgation of Abuja PDP stake holders Forum
PDP CARETAKER issue;
2012 Constitution of our great party the PDP on page 101, chapter xii under Miscellaneous Provisions 66:(1) Amendments allowed for convention to vote with 2/3 of those present
-YES
But went ahead in (2) to stare that
” the notice of the proposed amendment to the constitution shall be given to the National Secretary at least two (2) months before the date of the National Convention and the Notice, which shall be in writing shall contain a clear statement of the amendment sought and the reasons for the amendment.
(3) the National Secretary will in turn circulate it to all state branches at least a month to convention date.
So where and when was the amendment to have a Caretaker muted, reached and circulated for the Convention to vote on? Where is the notice?
Leaving that, Modu too was wrongly brought in by a few, allegedly the Governors who now pockets the party, away from the real nature of politics which separates the party administration from the party Executives voted to public offices, see western democracy, even Ghana our niegbour, same as was in the NPN and UPN days, when party supremacy was sancrosanct. I recall a case where Chief Tunji Arosanyin, State Secretary of the then old Kwara State NPN summoned the then Governor Late Alhaji Adamu Attah to the party office to answer to a QUERY, or the Ebenezer Babatope UPN rejection of Kate Bola Ige’s first Cimmissioner’s list, which Bola Ife as a sitting Governor recalled and related according to party desire. Who dare do that now either in PDP or APC ????
Having established these two curves, Modu has shifted ground saying- HE IS READY TO LEAVE CHAIRMANSHIP but gave two (2) conditions (please correct me if an wrong), these I can remember:
(I) Markafi should drop for a neutral hand to midwife the Convention
(II) His group should be given half of the Convention Committee slots
From the position of a progressive mind and a conflict resolution angle, Modu has opened up a new flank for PROGRESS away from the many barrage of Court legions with questionable suspicious several contradicting headache judgements, that has enveloped the party, which he has bieng leading with victories from Lagos to Abuja and the Markafi group confined to victories from Port-Harcourt, Wikes back yard.
I think very strongly that, anyone thinking that Modu Sheriff who owns an 11 billion Naira worth vakued-jet aircraft way back to over a decade now, two times Governor, removed a sitting Governor in person of late Kachalla and fought Tinubu to stand still before leaving APC willingly, will be a push over, then, the person is not bieng realistic and sincerely does not like the PDP in practical terms…
I strongly suggest, that his conditions be critically looked at, Markafis health is not even strong enough for these hard times that PDP has plunged itself into, its obvious the Adeyeyes and Obis are running things in PDP now, and Modu has seen through that, and wants a firm hand, not the hand of Esau voice of Jacob!!!

What is difficult in this, Markafi who himself lost an election like Modu, should be changed as proposed in Modus condition, so that, his (Markafi) emergence which another person apart from Modu may still use against the party in the feauture to challenge the party be done wuth, while a FRESH PERSON, who is unanimously acceptable to all concerned, including his group be given a quarter of the membership of the Convention Committee, if he can’t get the half he desires.
Again, I repeat, there is serious irreversible danger in handing over our great party the PDP to these army of leaders standing TRIALS, except Fayose, (his trial is clearly a violation of Nigerian-Buhari disrespected Constitution) who at a point remained the only VOICE before the coming on board of Modu Sheriff.
Even our own Secondus, the then acting National Chaurman went silent all those while, after the hauling into detention if Metu, until he was finally arrainged on the disclosure by Jide Omokore for receiving cars or car gifts or share frim him and a fingering by EFCC of him as partaker of Dansugate.
Gentlemen, we still didn’t ask ourselves, who contracted Jonathan’s campaign to TAN in billions of dollars? While the real party structure watch from the sidelines? All these leaders bieng arrainged today, what was or were thier roles? And what did they tell Jonathan when he and the National PDP then said only ONE PRESIDENTIAL TICKET IS AVAILABLE, where they DEAD then? And now, are the resurrected!
For me, the dead bones that ROSE will RISE again, the PDP will not DIE and it shall surely RISE from its self-inflicted FALL, only by facing REALITY.
