Kogi State Chief Judge (CJ), Justice Nasiru Ajanah, has warned youths in the state not to engage in acts capable of jeopardising their future.
Justice Ajanah, who gave the warning in Okene in the central axis of the state during this year’s Ajanah Basketball Championship, enjoined them to eschew any form of violence.
He pointed out that youth restiveness, violence and other forms of anti-social behaviours are inimical to development in society, adding that youths should strive to be vanguards of progress.
Justice Ajanah further pointed out that rather than allowing themselves to be used as agents of destruction, they should strive to be agents of positive change and development in society.
He equally charged them not to neglect education and sports, which, he said, complement each other in the life of a man.
The CJ stated that the basketball championship was aimed at engaging the youths as well as discovering new talents that would take the game to higher heights.
The CJ, who is also the patron of the state basketball association, stressed the need for concerted efforts in developing the game in the country.
