Kogi State Governor Idris Wada has called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants who lost out during the party’s primaries to put their grievances behind them and work for the party’s success during the forthcoming general elections.

Addressing the party’s candidates and some aspirants who lost out yesterday in Government House, Lokoja, Wada commended the party leadership for a violence free exercise.

He assured the party’s flag bearers that having emerged victorious, “everything would be done under the law and election guidelines to ensure your victory at the poll.”

He however appealed to those who could not pick the party’s tickets to see it as an act of God as power belongs to Him alone.

Earlier, the state PDP chairman, Hassan Salawu, said winning the party’s ticket does not mean automatic victory in the general elections, urging the candidates to redouble their efforts.

He however called on those who lost out at the primary to work with the candidates to ensure victory, saying politics must not be seen to be a do-or-die affair.

Some of the candidates and the aspirants who lost promised to work together for the party’s interest.
