The Sallah celebration in Ankpa, Kogi State, was cut short following the attack on the area by suspected cult members.
We reliably gathered in Ankpa that five persons where killed in the attack while several others were wounded.
One of the notorious leaders of the cult group, who led a squad that killed Sule Prince Bawa in Ankpa near Corpers Lodge, was hacked down in the operation.
Police authorities told our reporter in Ankpa that most of the investigation are being thwarted by the intervention of some prominent personalities in the community.
A community leader in Ankpa, Mallam Suleiman Dauda, who spoke to journalists over the issue, said that until the elders are brought to book, there cannot be peace in the area.
