State Chairman of the party, Haddy Ametuo, in a statement said the council chairman, currently on suspension over alleged mal-administration and financial recklessness, is better impeached than return to office.
According to Ametuo, “it is the only way to save the local government councils in the state from the hands of their chairmen who have refused to pay salaries despite public outcry and protest from the workers.”
Ametuo commended the patriotic zeal of the councillors who refused to give in to intimidation and threats from the cabals that have held the Kabba/Bunu chairman hostage.
The APC chairman, who alleged under performance by the PDP administration in the state, said his party was working to ensure the ruling party was routed out of the state in 2015 general election.
The council chairman was suspended following the alleged diversion of funds and award of contract without due process by all the 15 councillors who unanimously endorsed the suspension.
