The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi says he is optimistic that year 2014 will be a better year for people of the State.
The Deputy Governor in his new year message, called for continuous prayers for the progress of the state and for the Governor Idris Wada led administration.
Awoniyi, particularly called on Nigerian’s to show understanding by joining hands with government at all levels to build a virile nation.
Specifically, he called on people of the state to give more support to the Capt Idris Wada led administration, adding that the present administration is committed to improving the well being of the people through its several people oriented policies.
Awoniyi noted that the difficulty associated with modern day governance has been challenging, but maintained that with the support and cooperation of people of the State,Governor Idris Wada, is steadily delivering on his mandate to the people.
Awoniyi appealed to Nigerians to have faith in the unity of the nation adding that despite the many challenges the country may be passing through, people should eschew forgiveness and embrace the present administration of President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Idris Wada, for it to fulfill its transformation agenda.
Awoniyi urged Nigerians to in this new year be patriotic, show more commitment to work, be their brothers keeper, shun ethnicity as well as abhor violence to enable them benefit the dividends of democracy.
The Deputy Governor advised Nigerian’s to turn away from life styles that have hindered the nations development and unity, but to work for a strong and prosperous nation.
Awoniyi reiterated the resolve of the Capt Idris Wada’s administration to in the new year meet the yearning and aspirations of the people of the state,said the state is in safe hands under the Wada led administration.
