CJ Advocates Financial Autonomy for Kogi Judiciary

The Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Nasir Ajanah, has called on the state government to grant financial autonomy to the state Judiciary.

Justice Ajanah who made the call during the Nigerian Bar Association, Lokoja Chapter’s end of the year dinner and reception in honour of all Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) from the state at the weekend said it would enhance quick and independent dispensation of justice.

The chief Judge who was represented by Justice Henry Olusuyi, said measures had been put in place to fast-track dispensation of justice as from next year, calling on members of the bar to key into the new initiative.

Governor Idris Wada assured of a working partnership between the executive and other arms of government in the state. The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, said his foray into politics was driven by integrity, assuring that his administration would be guided by best conduct at all times and open to scrutiny. Earlier, the president of the NBA, Okey Wali, (SAN) represented by J.S Okutepa (SAN), urged those in the bar from the state to strive for integrity and take discipline seriously.
