The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Vanguard (NYV) in Kogi State has called on President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State to run for a second term in the 2015 general elections.
State coordinator of the group, Oladipo Makakese Bayode, who disclosed this at a press conference in Lokoja, the state capital, said President Jonathan and Wada deserved a second term due to their excellent performance in office.
The group said Kogi State has fared better under the administration of President Jonathan than under any other president in the country, pointing out that many citizens of Kogi State have been appointed into key positions with numerous federal projects awarded in the state.
“Time has come that whether somebody is from a minority group or not, once he or she is qualified and has done well, they should be supported to go for a second term. And with the progress made so far by the President in his transformation agenda, we have endorsed him for another four years come 2015,” the group said.
It said Wada had done creditably well by putting the state on a sound economic footing as his programmes and policies were tailored towards youth empowerment and development.
