A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and a former gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the defunct Alliance for Democracy, AD, in 2007, Chief Yakubu Rotimi Obadofin, has said that the APC is ready to oust the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Kogi governorship election in 2015.

Obadofin, who said this while fielding questions from journalists shortly after receiving an award of excellence bestowed on him and other recipients by the publisher of Kogi Affairs yesterday in Lokoja, said the time has come to wrest power from the PDP.

He said in the 22 years of the creation of Kogi State, much still needed to be done in terms of infrastructural development, adding that some of the states created along with Kogi are doing well in area of development.

The former gubernatorial candidate said as from 2015, APC will continue to deliver genuine dividends of democracy like other states where progressive elements have taken charge, noting that there has been clamour for change by the electorate in the state.

He lamented that the 10 years of domination by the PDP in the state has not yielded positive results as lots of resources have been wasted during the past administrations.

In a reaction, Chairman of the PDP in the state, Alhaji Hassan Salawu, said the PDP has contributed immensely to the development of the state, adding that the oppositions’ outcry will not deter the development strides of the present administration.
