THE governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada (retd), has looked back into the last 15 months of his administration and disclosed that he has achieved so much.
As proofs, he mentioned the Youth Empowerment Scheme; Agricultural revolution; rehabilitation of roads in Mopa, Kabba, Iyara and efforts to fix the Kabba-Egbe-Ilorin road and other infrastructures among others, which his administration has embarked upon so far.
Speaking at Kabba, headquartes of Kogi West Senatorial District, while kick-starting the campaign and official presentation of flags to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates ahead of the 4 May local government election in the state, Wada informed that these projects were reasons people should vote for the PDP.
He also promised to spread over 130 projects advertised in the SURE-P project across the state, as well as embark on the provision of electricity to council areas, assuring that he would make the Omi Dam functional so as to create job for the teeming unemployed youths.
In another development, the Kogi West Senatorial District comprising seven Local Government Areas has been described as a no-go area for opposition political parties in the poll.
The deputy governor, Yomi Awoniyi, who made this known while speaking at the occasion, said while other political parties in the state were also contesting the election, they will be overwhelmed by the popularity of the PDP.
