Sourcing for good and reliable leadership is an herculean task, especially in a society where personal benefits and selfish interest are taking the central stage and becoming order of the day.

To say the lest, the current development in the Kabba/Bunu local government, as its concerned on the chairmanship council primaries poll. One may concluded that the stern of selfish ideology is gradually taking the political stage, hence need to be tackle head on by all sundry.

The petition raised by Mr. Fred Jimoh Aiyenale and Mr. Ralph Ade-Olamife, all candidates interested in the chairmanship race for Kabba/Bunu on the PDP platform have no doubt indicates the intrigues and corner-played politics brought to the council’s political settings.

Though, the petitioners had justified among other issues, an attempt to scheme them out of the race through a pre-primaries exercise popularly known as SHADOW primary. While issue that bothered on monetary inducement among PDP elders and exco members was alleged.

Not only that, they stressed the need to honour an unknown and invalid agreement made to one of the contenders during the 2011 general election of the state House of Assembly.

One wondered on this earth, how the destiny of tens of thousand of eligible electorates within the Kabba and Bunu communities could be tie on a compromised and ambitious agreement that were made by some elements in the name of political agenda.

Taken the cognisant of the petition’s context. It has dawn to the electorates the petitioners are now nurturing a cheap publicity as an avenue to gain political popularity in the contest, rather than putting strategies on how to woo their respective supporters ahead of the May 2013 poll.

Their actions and inaction can be seen as a desperate politicians that are bend toward actualising an hidden agenda through the back door of politicking.

To say the fact, the history of zoning and shadow primaries has it is today in Kabba/Bunu political system could be consider as a platform of dialogue and mechanism of peace already put in place by the party’s founding fathers.

This, no doubt could be linked this to the efforts made by late political czar, Dr. Stephen Olorunfemi having nurtured a well Okun political setup in an undisputed and acceptance manner. It was also for the purpose of cohesion and mutual understanding among politicians that may push interest on any public office.

However, It purposes are enormous, simple and in prescribed term; a mechanism aimed at electing or better still selecting a true and rightful choice of leader without much rancour and bitterness among the contenders.

To put the record straight on the insinuating of N30 million money given to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders and exco members in the council ahead of its shadow primaries should be seen as wicked campaign to gain a sympathetic contest and popularity.

The good of people of Kabba/Bunu should not put emphasis on the so called petition, as it intend to distract the emerging of good governance in making. We should also jointly consider the moves by these candidates toward the race as unpopular in a modern democracy.

As such, the political antecedents of Honourable Emmanuel Olorunfemi (Funsho-Otu) are not in anyway hidden, especially among the electorate in Kabba/Bunu. While his brief staying as Liaison Officer-1 in-charge of the council can be described as tested and trusted leader.

Having distinguished himself as a grassroots developer through his numerous programmes as incumbent LO1. It is cleared to all that the long-awaiting good governance would be a reality in a short while.

We should all encourage our political leaders in Kabba/Bunu not to be deceive or intimidate by series of political propagandas already embarked on by some people in order to spring up their political relevance at all cost.
