The Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) has announced that the registration data for 13 wards in Kogi State have gone missing, just as it urged eligible voters who could not be registered during the last exercise to do so, to enable them exercise their franchise in the December 3 governorship election.
The affect wards include: Ankpa Angwar Hausawa, Ankpa –Ogogo Ogane, Dekina- Ajodongodo open space, Dekina, UI Right Open space , Lokoja, Ansarul primary school, Lokoja –Maimi Lafia , Okene – Fancy junction , Okene –LGEA .
Other wards are Okene- Ageva area, Okene LGEA Primary school, Okene- open space by Ibiahim OLOKOBA, Okene Bus stop and LG EA Primary School , Idoma.
INEC’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel I. Omenge who made the appeal for eligible voters to register yesterday in Lokoja, the state capital stated that the call became necessary following the discovery that the registration data had been lost.
Omenge also called on those who did not register during the last exercise and those who have attained age of 18 or those who have changed their destinations to seize the opportunity to do so.
According to him, the response from the field since the beginning of the exercise was very encouraging, adding that the commission was very impressed.

He noted that the loss of data in those wards were not deliberate, however attributed it to the teething problem encountered in the first three days of the registration exercise, saying it was not peculiar to Kogi state alone.
Omenge assured the people of the state that there would be no room for manipulation of the exercise, stressing that that the commission has already developed a software that will detect multiple registrations.
