The Kogi West All Progressives Congress (APC) Leaders Forum has welcomed a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja recognizing Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro as the party’s rightful candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial District.
In a statement signed by Rt. Hon. Alfa Imam on behalf of the forum, the group described the court’s decision as a major victory for internal democracy and the rule of law, asserting that the judgment corrected a prior injustice involving the substitution of Aro’s name with Senator Sunday Karimi.
The forum, composed of political elders from the senatorial district, noted that the ruling validated the initial outcome of the party’s primary elections and restored the mandate given to Aro by party members. The group had previously voiced strong opposition to the substitution, calling it an attempt to override the choice of the electorate.

Urging calm and unity across the constituency, the forum advised Senator Karimi to accept the court’s verdict. At the same time, the leaders called on Aro to demonstrate magnanimity in victory by extending an olive branch to his opponent to foster party cohesion.
Expressing confidence in Aro’s electoral prospects, the forum stated that it is prepared to mobilize widespread support across Kogi West to secure victory in the upcoming general election.
