Haj Aishat Oyiza Omade, founder of My People First Foundation (MPFF), has announced plans to donate 500 mattresses to elderly women across Ihima community in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State as part of her continued commitment to humanitarian service and community welfare.

The announcement was made yesterday during an APC Ward Meeting at Obeiba Ward 1, Okehi LGA, where Hajiya Omade expressed deep concern over the living conditions of elderly women in her community, particularly those struggling with poverty and inadequate household necessities.

According to her, the decision followed personal encounters with two to three elderly women in her community whose painful experiences and difficult living conditions touched her deeply, prompting her to take practical steps towards improving their welfare.

She explained that the proposed mattress distribution would be implemented through her humanitarian organisation, My People First Foundation, which has continued to champion initiatives aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable persons, women, children and underserved communities.

The intervention is expected to provide relief to elderly women who, in many cases, have spent years enduring uncomfortable sleeping conditions without adequate bedding.

Hajiya Omade’s latest promise further reinforces her longstanding commitment to humanitarian service, particularly through initiatives that address the immediate needs of vulnerable members of society.

It would be recalled that My People First Foundation, under her leadership, recently donated 50 mattresses to children at Enanyo Orphanage in Makoko Community, Yaba, Lagos, following an encounter in which the foundation discovered that some of the children were sleeping on bare wooden surfaces.

The gesture brought relief to the children and further demonstrated the foundation’s commitment to restoring dignity and improving living conditions among disadvantaged populations.

The proposed 500-mattress intervention in Ihima is therefore another significant step in Hajiya Omade’s humanitarian journey, with elderly women at the centre of the initiative.

Her announcement has further highlighted the importance of community-driven philanthropy and the need for sustained attention to the welfare of senior citizens, particularly those living in rural communities.

Through My People First Foundation, Hajiya Aishat Oyiza Omade continues to demonstrate that compassion, humanity and service to others remain essential pillars of meaningful leadership.
