The event, organised by Engr. Friday Michael, Chief Executive Officer of Good Shepherd Hospital, attracted thousands of supporters, community leaders, political stakeholders, and party faithful who gathered to demonstrate their commitment to the APC and mobilise support for its candidates ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

The gathering featured renewed calls for support for President Tinubu, Governor Ododo, Joe Erico, and other APC candidates, with participants expressing confidence in the party’s leadership and its development agenda.

Representing the Kogi State Deputy Governor, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, at the event was Hon. Daniel Abutu, Director of Protocol to the Kogi State Governor. His presence underscored the importance of the gathering in strengthening grassroots political engagement and consolidating support for the APC in the area.

Speaking at the event, Engr. Friday Michael urged residents and eligible voters to remain committed to the APC, stressing the need for continuity in leadership to sustain development efforts and advance the welfare of the people.

He explained that his political engagement was driven by a desire to strengthen the relationship between the government and the people, noting that sustained cooperation between political leaders, community stakeholders, and residents would help bring government programmes closer to the grassroots.

According to him, effective grassroots mobilisation and constructive engagement remain essential to building public confidence, strengthening the party, and ensuring that communities benefit from the dividends of democracy.

The reception of a large number of decampees was one of the major highlights of the gathering, as the new entrants were welcomed into the APC amidst a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters. Their defection was presented as a boost to the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts in Onicha-Igo ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Other dignitaries present included Hon. Paul Sunday and Idris Mariam Monica Ojo, identified as the incoming member of the Kogi State House of Assembly representing the Igala-Ogba Constituency.
