Begin the day on your knees. Even when you have no words, stay there. Prayer is not a performance measured by eloquence. Some mornings the heart is too burdened to form a sentence. Kneel quietly before God. The silence itself can become an act of surrender.
Before the phone begins demanding attention, before messages arrive and responsibilities multiply, create a moment in which God receives your first attention. The discipline is simple: kneel, become still and remember that the day ahead is not entirely within your control.

Many people begin the morning by checking what everyone else has said. Notifications, headlines, arguments and demands can occupy the mind before the day has properly begun. Prayer reverses that order. It gives the heart a place to become quiet before the world becomes loud.
You do not need an elaborate prayer. Say what is true: Lord, guide me today. Keep me from evil. Give me wisdom. Help me to forgive. Protect my family. Show me what I cannot see. Then remain there. A short prayer offered sincerely is better than impressive words spoken without attention.
Jesus Himself withdrew to pray. Scripture repeatedly presents prayer not as an emergency button but as a rhythm of spiritual life. The person who prays only when trouble arrives treats God as a last resort. The person who begins with prayer acknowledges something more fundamental: the day belongs to God before it belongs to us.
There will be mornings when prayer feels effortless and mornings when it feels dry. Do not measure faith by emotion. Stay. Kneel when you can. Sit quietly when you cannot speak. Read a verse. Give thanks. Confess what needs to be confessed. Ask for help. Sometimes remaining before God when you have nothing to say is itself an expression of faith.
So tomorrow morning, resist the instinct to reach first for the phone. Before the world tells you what deserves your attention, give God yours. Begin the day on your knees. You may rise without having solved everything, but you will not rise carrying everything alone.
