The National President of the Chiku Egbira Descendants Union, Dr Musa Ibrahim Amodu, has urged Egbira people to uphold good conduct and promote the positive identity of the community, saying good character remains central to Egbira values and essential for unity and development.
He made the call in Abuja during the launch of The Unstoppable Ovine and a retirement thanksgiving organised in honour of a member of the union, Hajia Halimah Salawu.
Dr Amodu commended Hajia Salawu for her humility, diligence and contributions to the growth of the association, particularly her efforts in mobilising women, and urged other members to emulate her commitment to service and humanity.
Reviewing the book, Islamic scholar Ambassador Ridwan Adebayo said its lessons on good character could help reduce corruption and other social vices, urging families to read it and teach its messages to their children.
The author, Hajia Halimah Salawu, encouraged young people, especially women, to remain hardworking, resilient and committed to their goals, saying difficult circumstances should not determine their future.
She explained that her personal experiences inspired the book and expressed hope that its lessons would motivate readers to believe in themselves, overcome challenges and contribute positively to society. The event was attended by family members, friends and well-wishers.
