The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted Full Accreditation to the Nursing Science programme of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), a status valid for the next five years.
The approval was contained in a letter dated July 13, 2026, signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, following an accreditation exercise conducted across Nigerian universities in October and November 2025.
Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, described the accreditation as a major milestone in the University’s drive for academic excellence and quality assurance.

Professor Ibileye congratulated the management, staff and students of the College of Health Sciences, particularly the Department of Nursing Science, for the commitment and hard work that culminated in the achievement.
He said the outcome reflects the University’s determination to sustain high academic standards, while assuring parents, students and other stakeholders that the institution will continue to provide quality education and produce competent healthcare professionals for national development.
