Speaking on behalf of the group, Comrade Adamu Ibrahim Muhammed congratulated Prof. Usman on his appointment, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his exceptional leadership qualities, administrative competence and unwavering commitment to public service.

He commended the Vice-Chancellor for his remarkable achievements in both human and infrastructural development, first at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, and subsequently at Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, noting that the visible transformation recorded in both institutions within his first 100 days in office was a testament to his visionary leadership, commitment to excellence and capacity for institutional transformation.

Comrade Muhammed also applauded the Vice-Chancellor’s zero tolerance for cultism and other forms of campus criminality, describing his administration as one that had restored discipline, enhanced security and created an enabling environment for teaching, learning and research.

Describing Prof. Usman as a pacesetter and exemplary administrator, he expressed pride in his numerous accomplishments and reassured him of the class’s continued support and prayers as he continues to steer the affairs of the University.

Responding, Professor Usman expressed profound appreciation to his classmates for their show of love, solidarity and goodwill. He recalled that while serving as Acting Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, before his substantive appointment, the St. Charles College Old Students Association was among the first groups to identify with him and demonstrate confidence in his leadership.

He noted that just as his administration was determined to reposition Kogi State Polytechnic and restore its lost glory, his administration would remain committed to repositioning Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, through purposeful leadership, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed profound gratitude to the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for giving him the opportunity to serve, and appreciated the incumbent Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continuous support, which he said had been instrumental in advancing the growth and development of the University.

Prof. Usman thanked his classmates for their humility, encouragement and unwavering support, and appealed to them for their continued prayers as he continues to provide purposeful leadership for the University.
