Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi, popularly known as “Elephant,” has received his Certificate of Return as the duly elected candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Kogi East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The presentation formally confirmed Abdullahi’s emergence as the party’s standard-bearer for the senatorial seat, a development the PDP says reflects the overwhelming confidence and trust delegates, party leaders, stakeholders, and members across Kogi East have reposed in him.
Reacting to the development, Abdullahi expressed gratitude to the PDP leadership and party faithful who supported his aspiration. He described the achievement as a victory for the entire people of Kogi East, calling it a clear demonstration of the collective desire for quality representation, inclusive leadership, and sustainable development in the district.

He reaffirmed his commitment to a people-focused campaign built around youth empowerment, economic development, quality education, improved infrastructure, and job creation, pledging to give Kogi East a stronger voice at the national level.
“The Certificate of Return is not merely a symbol of political success but a call to greater responsibility and service to the people,” Abdullahi said, pledging to work tirelessly to justify the confidence placed in him and to champion policies that uplift the lives of his constituents.
Abdullahi also urged members of the PDP and well-meaning citizens of Kogi East to remain united and committed to securing victory for the party in the 2027 election. He stressed that unity, dedication, and cooperation remain essential to achieving the progress and development the district seeks.
The receipt of the Certificate of Return, he said, marks the beginning of a renewed journey — one defined by hope and a determination to provide purposeful, responsive, and people-oriented representation for Kogi East Senatorial District.
