The leadership of Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA), is set to confer a Special Community Impact Award on the member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, during the forthcoming Ekinrin-Adde Day Cultural Festival.
The award, described as a first-of-its-kind recognition by EACDA, is a special honour reserved for an individual whose contributions have had a remarkable and lasting impact on the development of Ekinrin-Adde.
According to the National Publicity Secretary of EACDA, Pastor Emmanuel Ajibola Ogungbuyi, Hon. Faleke was unanimously selected in recognition of his continued commitment to the growth and transformation of his ancestral home.

He noted that through personal interventions and the facilitation of government projects, Hon. Faleke has become one of the major drivers of modern infrastructure and community development in Ekinrin-Adde.
Among several landmark projects credited to the federal lawmaker are the construction of two befitting palaces for the community’s royal fathers, the ongoing construction of a modern mini stadium, and a multi-billion naira recreational and civic centre designed to serve both residents and visitors. He has also facilitated several other developmental projects while consistently supporting community initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of the people.
Hon. Faleke has also empowered hundreds of residents through the distribution of tools, equipment, financial support and other empowerment items, creating opportunities for artisans, traders, youths and other members of the community to improve their livelihoods.
The EACDA spokesperson explained that these interventions, coupled with his commitment to the progress of Ekinrin-Adde, distinguished him as the recipient of the Special Community Impact Award.
The award presentation will take place during the Awards Night of the 2026 Ekinrin-Adde Day celebration scheduled for June 26, where several distinguished sons and daughters of the community will also be honoured for their outstanding achievements and contributions in various fields.
Born on December 25, 1959, in Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke attended Abdul-Azeez Attah Memorial College, Okene, where he obtained his West African School Certificate in 1979. He later graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management from Kaduna Polytechnic as the overall best graduating student before earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Imo State University.
His passion for public service became evident during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Lagos State. As Parade Commander of the orientation camp, he distinguished himself through exemplary leadership and community service, including the donation of refuse bins to households within Ikeja Local Government Area to promote environmental sanitation. His efforts earned him the prestigious NYSC Merit Award in 1987.
After building a successful career in the private sector, where he served in various management positions in procurement, clearing and forwarding, warehousing, distribution and construction, Hon. Faleke ventured into politics.
He was elected the pioneer Executive Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), serving two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2011. During his tenure, he also served as Chairman of Conference 57, the umbrella body of Local Government and LCDA Chairmen in Lagos State.
In 2011, he was elected to represent Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and has since been re-elected by his constituents. He currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, having previously chaired the House Committee on Anti-Corruption, National Ethics and Values, as well as the Committee on Customs and Excise.
As a federal lawmaker, Hon. Faleke has sponsored several bills and motions while facilitating numerous constituency projects across Ikeja Federal Constituency, including roads, schools, ICT centres, solar streetlights, healthcare programmes, youth empowerment initiatives, security interventions and employment opportunities.
Despite his remarkable achievements in Lagos, Hon. Faleke has remained connected to his roots, consistently extending developmental projects, humanitarian interventions and empowerment programmes to Ekinrin-Adde and Kogi state in general.
The forthcoming Special Community Impact Award, therefore, represents the appreciation of an entire community for a son whose investments in people and infrastructure have helped shape a more modern and progressive Ekinrin-Adde.
