Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, on Saturday intensified support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, describing him as a competent, experienced and people-oriented leader with the vision and capacity to reposition the state for greater development.
The senator made the declaration during the grand finale of the PDP governorship campaign held opposite Eagle Hall along Ikere Road, Ado-Ekiti, ahead of the June 20 governorship election.
Addressing thousands of party faithful, women groups, youths and members of the Ebira community, the Distinguished Senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria said she had spent several days traversing communities across Ekiti State to mobilize support for the PDP candidate, whom she described as a man of integrity, inclusiveness and proven leadership credentials.

According to her, Dr. Oluyede remains the best choice for Ekiti people because of his commitment to good governance, educational advancement, youth empowerment, women inclusion and economic development.
“Dr. Oluwole Oluyede is a leader who understands the needs of the people. He is not disconnected from the grassroots. He has listened to the cries of market women, youths, civil servants and community leaders across the state,” she said.

The lawmaker noted that the PDP candidate had consistently demonstrated a genuine concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens and possesses the leadership qualities required to address the challenges facing the state.
She further described Dr. Oluyede as a unifying figure capable of bringing together people from different backgrounds and ensuring that every resident of Ekiti State enjoys equal opportunities regardless of tribe, religion or ethnicity.
“One of the reasons I am strongly supporting Dr. Oluyede is his commitment to building an inclusive government where every group and community has a sense of belonging. Leadership should be about service, fairness and equal opportunities for all,” she stated.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed confidence in the political awareness of Ekiti voters, saying the people were knowledgeable enough to identify leaders with genuine intentions and the competence to deliver meaningful development.
“Ekiti people are proudly educated and politically enlightened people. I believe they know who truly has the capacity, compassion and experience to govern the state effectively. This election is about choosing progress, inclusion and a better future for the state,” she said.
Speaking on her grassroots mobilization efforts, the senator disclosed that she had visited several communities, including Ikole-Ekiti, Ilasa and other settlements with significant populations of Ebira residents, encouraging them to participate actively in the election and support the PDP candidate.
“We have moved from settlement to settlement speaking to our people. We are encouraging them to support a candidate who will prioritize development, inclusion, peace and prosperity for all. Every vote will count on June 20, and every citizen must play a role in shaping the future of Ekiti State,” she added.
The Kogi Central senator maintained that Oluyede’s leadership style, development agenda and accessibility to the grassroots distinguish him from other contenders in the race.
She therefore urged eligible voters across the state not to be discouraged by challenges but to come out in large numbers on election day and cast their votes for the PDP candidate.
“Dr. Oluyede is a tested and trusted leader with the interest of the people at heart. I urge all eligible voters to come out peacefully, exercise their democratic rights and support a leader who is prepared to serve with dedication, competence and integrity,” she said.
The campaign grand finale attracted top PDP leaders, stakeholders, youth organizations, women groups and supporters from across Ekiti State, all expressing optimism that the party would secure victory in the June 20 governorship election.
Party faithful at the rally reiterated their commitment to delivering victory for the PDP candidate, describing the election as a crucial opportunity to chart a new course for the state’s development and prosperity.
