Video: Local Hunters in Ijumu Laments Non-Payment of Salaries, Poor Welfare – Begs Gov Ododo to Intervene

Despite their resolve to sustain fight against insecurity, local hunters in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi state engaged by the government have cried out over non payment of their salaries running into several months.

The non payment of salaries of these hunters ranges between 6 to 15 months in different categories.

They have consistently complained to the Ijumu council chairman, Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim, but there has been no changes.

Recently, they took their complaints to Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, Oba Olusegun William Ayeni, but nothing has happened.

As it stands, they have resolved to continue to provide security cover and vigilance in Ijumu LGA and environs, but are urgently pleading with Governor Usman Ododo to come to their aid and save their soul by investigating to unravel what led to non payment of their salaries running to several months.

They commended the governor for his continued resolve to fight insecurity in Ijumu, Okun land and indeed Kogi State as a whole.

They pleaded with governor to embark on a fact finding mission to ascertain causes of non payment of the vigilantes members.
