A group, Kogi East Progressives Alliance, has condemned allegations of plots to destabilize the All Progressives Congress (APC) leveled against Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu.
In a statement signed by the Convener, Kogi East Progressives Alliance, Hon. Alhassan Idakwo, and made available to newsmen on Friday, the group said the attempt to link the Minister to division within the APC in Kogi East, following the just concluded senatorial primary, is unfortunate and irresponsible.
It described the group that leveled the allegation, Kogi East APC Justice Forum, as faceless.

Idakwo said the claims were misleading, politically motivated, and aimed at tarnishing the image of the Minister who is known to be a committed party man that has contributed significantly to the growth and success of the APC in Kogi State.
“Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu remains a strong pillar of the APC in Kogi State and a loyal supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. It is therefore dishonest to suggest that Minister Audu would work to destabilise his party.
“As Director-General of the APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council in 2023, Minister Audu greatly contributed to the success of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the polls particularly through strategic mobilisation across Kogi East despite strong political and ethnic sentiments against the party.
“It is also on record that Prince Audu delivered his polling unit and ward for the APC despite strong headwinds at the Gubernatorial elections and has continued to organise stakeholders’ engagements across Kogi East to promote the achievements of President Tinubu as well as mobilise support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and Mr President’s re-election bid in 2027.
*At no point has the Minister acted against the interests or unity of the party,” the statement read.
Kogi East Progressives Alliance urged members of the general public to disregard the desperate allegations aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the party for selfish political reasons.
