A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed quoted the Speaker to have said in his reaction that he was not surprised by the large turnout given the high level enlightenment that went on prior to the exercise, and stressed the need for other electorate to also be educated on the importance and purpose of such convergence.

Rt. Hon. Umar, who further called on the people to be steadfast in the remaining exercises during the ongoing party primaries, enjoined APC supporters to understand that the power to select who would fly the party’s flag in next year’s election is in their hands and that they should be better informed about the antcedents of those who have put themselves forward to be selected as standard bearers.
The Speaker noted that given the records of the present office holders in the party across the state, their faith in the present leadership of the state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is not misplaced and that it would encourage the present administration to continue to do more.
He therefore expressed gratitude to the Governor for his wisdom in piloting the affairs of the state, and assured the party that the people of Lokoja II and Lokoja Local Government in general would continue to back the APC in all future elections.
