In a strong expression of concern over representation and accountability, youths of Okene I Constituency have openly criticized the Majority Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Suleiman AbdulRazak, urging him to justify his stewardship since assuming office in June 2023.

The youths, under the coordination of Comrade Ishaq Asuku Muji, questioned the visible impact of Hon. AbdulRazak across key sectors affecting the lives of the people. While acknowledging his political rise and perceived alignment with former Governor Yahaya Bello, they insisted that political connections cannot replace performance.

According to the group, Okene I Constituency, which comprises seven wards, deserves practical and measurable development. They challenged the lawmaker to present concrete achievements in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, infrastructure, and poverty alleviation.

“Leadership is about service, not position,” the statement read. “We want to see what Hon. SAS has done for the people in real terms. Our communities should feel his presence through impactful projects and programs.”

The youths further warned that the 2027 elections would be decided based on performance, stressing that no officeholder should assume automatic re-election without earning the trust of the people.

Drawing from past political experiences within the constituency, they noted that electoral outcomes have always reflected the will of the people, regardless of influence or backing. They emphasized that the era of imposed leadership without accountability is gradually fading.

The group concluded by calling on Hon. AbdulRazak to publicly outline his achievements and engage directly with constituents to justify any future political ambition.
