The issue surrounding the forthcoming primary election in Kabba/Bunu State Constituency has become a matter of urgent public interest, requiring clarity, fairness, and strict adherence to democratic principles.
Despite ongoing discussions and speculations, it is important to state that the Independent National Electoral Commission has not released any official statement regarding the court judgment affecting the inclusion of Kabba/Bunu Constituency I and II in the ballot. This uncertainty makes it even more critical for due process to be followed.
In light of this, all aspirants across both constituencies have maintained a united position: regardless of the final outcome concerning Constituency I and II, there must be a credible, transparent, and inclusive primary election that allows every qualified aspirant to participate fairly.

A primary election remains a cornerstone of democracy. It guarantees fairness, promotes transparency, strengthens party unity, and ensures that the eventual candidate emerges with legitimacy and the support of the grassroots.
It is therefore necessary to emphasize that any attempt to impose or endorse a candidate without due consultation and a proper primary process will undermine party integrity and could create unnecessary division within the constituency.
We call on key stakeholders, including Ahmed Usman Ododo, Ezzu Aliyu, and all relevant party leaders of the All Progressives Congress to take note of the concerns of party members and aspirants within Kabba/Bunu State Constituency.
We also wish to clearly state that no official stakeholders’ meeting has been convened within the constituency regarding the endorsement of any aspirant. No recognized leaders have invited aspirants for deliberation or consensus-building.
Any claim of endorsement at this stage is therefore premature and does not reflect the collective will of the people.
Furthermore, we must stress that the absence of a proper primary election may lead to dissatisfaction among party members, which could result in a loss of loyal supporters.
This situation, if not carefully addressed, may negatively impact the electoral strength of the party and affect its chances in the forthcoming general election within the constituency.
Our position remains clear and consistent: there must be a free, fair, and transparent primary election that accommodates all aspirants, respects due process, and upholds democratic values.
Kabba/Bunu State Constituency deserves a credible process that reflects the true choice of the people. Only through an open and transparent primary election can the party present a candidate with genuine support, strength, and legitimacy.
We urge all concerned authorities to act responsibly and ensure that democracy is upheld in the interest of peace, unity, and progress.
Signed:
Concerned Stakeholders and Aspirants
Kabba/Bunu State Constituency
