In a proactive move to address ongoing land disputes affecting the Ebira community in Oguda, Onyukoko Ward, Okene Local Government Area.
Prince Buhari Sanni Omonori led a delegation of the National Youth Alliance, Kogi Central, on an on-the-spot assessment and path-finding mission.

The initiative aims to ascertain the nature of recurring attacks by neighboring Okpella communities in Edo State, who claim ownership of land historically occupied by the Ebira people.
The delegation included prominent leaders such as Muhammad Osana, Mall. Nurudeen Salihu Tijani, Mall. Daud Yakubu, Mall. Aliyu Achichi, and Jemila Muhammad, Daudu innocent among others accompanied by security personnel and media representatives.
The team visited the residence of Adayi Stephen, who detailed the community’s challenges, including conflicts arising from the discovery of mineral deposits (limestone) in the area, where BUA Cement operates.
During the visit, community elders recounted previous clashes with the Okpella people, emphasizing that Edo residents have never historically owned land in Oguda.
One elder shared experiences of injuries sustained in prior conflicts, while youths highlighted attacks involving Fulani herders and harassment by Okpella individuals, including threats via phone calls.
The delegation condemned the attacks and urged the community to remain calm while committing to report the situation to relevant authorities.
Prince Buhari Sanni Omonori, addressing the people, emphasized his mission to foster dialogue, resolve border disputes, and ensure the protection of Ebira residents.
He also highlighted his 15-year record of community support in Ebiraland, including educational initiatives such as free lessons, quiz competitions, and distribution of learning materials.
Before departing, Prince Buhari Sanni Omonori distributed bags of rice and cash to the residents and assured them that the matter would be escalated to the appropriate authorities for resolution.
He concluded with prayers for peace and safety in the community.
