The Kogi State Police Command has assured residents of the state and the general public that adequate security measures have been emplaced across the state to ensure a peaceful, secure, and hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, in a statement on Thursday, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has ordered the massive deployment of personnel and operational assets to strategic locations including Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, highways, motor parks, and other critical infrastructure.
ASP Afusat said the deployment comprises conventional police personnel, tactical teams, and traffic officers to guarantee adequate security coverage and ensure the free flow of traffic before, during, and after the festivities.

“The CP has further directed Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders to intensify visibility policing, intelligence gathering, and sustained patrols across their respective Areas of Responsibility, with strategic stop-and-search operations emplaced to deter criminal elements,” she said.
While felicitating with Muslim faithful, the Commissioner of Police urged residents to remain vigilant, comply with traffic regulations, avoid carrying large sums of money, and promptly report any suspicious movement or object to security agencies.
The Command assured of the protection of lives and property and encourages continued public cooperation.
