Leke Abejide Foundation Disburse WAEC Payment for Private Schools Across Yagba, Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituencies

Leke Abejide Foundation has disbursed the payment of West African Examination Council (WAEC) fees and administrative charges for all private school students across Yagba, Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituencies for the 2026 academic year calendar.

The foundation was established in 2010 is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting less-privileged, aged widows and the society at large through education, youth development and social intervention programmes.

The Director General of Leke Abejide Foundation LAF, Engr. Ayobami Dada described the initiative as part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote access to education and guarantee equal opportunities for every child Yagba irrespective of their backgrounds, and to eradicate issues surrounding the inability to pay for WAEC fees.

He said the intervention reaffirmed Hon. Leke Abejide’s sustained commitment to educational advancement and youth empowerment across Yagba Federal Constituency.

“This initiative forms part of the foundation’s broader mission to support young people in their academic pursuits and create equal opportunities for all, especially those whose ambitions are often constrained by financial hardship.

“Leke Abejide Foundation has therefore been committed to the payment of WAEC fees and other human advancement programs in the last 15 years, by paying off the West African Examination Council fees and other administrative charges the financial burden associated with the examination has been been take off by the foundation to give these students a fair opportunity to pursue tertiary education and compete on equal footing with their peers.

“Beneficiaries were all the students in private schools across Yagba, Kabba-Bunu, and Ijumu irrespective of their background, social status, or parents’ affiliation, the foundation is passionate about education and community development-driven to ensure the support give access to all the students without being selective or sentimental.

“Ensuring that the Foundation covers the registration fees annually, invariably promotes equitable access to education, allowing all eligible candidates to participate in this pivotal examination without financial hindrance.

“This initiative effectively reduces disparities among students from varying socio-economic backgrounds.

“Our programs reflect the foundation’s strong conviction that education remains the most sustainable pathway to breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering long-term national development, Engr Ayobami Dada said.

The parents hailed the Hon. Leke Abejide for sustaining the foundation and using it as a bridge to close the gap between the needs of the people and taking it as a sole responsibility to reach out to the students every year, while appreciating the foundation’s commitment to prioritizing education as one of its core responsibilities through the payment of WAEC fees, describing the gesture as timely and life-changing.

The students pledged to study and remain disciplined in their academic endeavours, to justify the confidence reposed in them.

“We thank the Leke Abejide Foundation, through the funding of Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide for easing the financial burden that would have hindered our academic pursuits. This gesture has renewed our confidence and determination to succeed.

“We are aware that the foundation has been doing this for the past 8 years for students, it is now a routine in Yagba that Hon. Leke Abejide will pay for all the students every year, therefore we’ll justify the investment made in our education, and the noble aspirations of the foundation toward building a better future through learning and human capital development,” they said.

The DG of the foundation presented the draft and payment to the schools for further administrative processing.

The disbursement was fully supervised by the Director General of the Leke Abejide Foundation Engr Ayobami Dada and Hon. Tayo Johnson, the Secretary of the foundation.”
