Pastor Babagbemi Joseph Adejola has urged Christians and Muslims to embrace love, prayer, and mutual understanding as both faiths observe the sacred seasons of Lent and Ramadan.

In a message released on Wednesday in Abuja, Babagbemi, an aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Yagba Federal Constituency, said the overlapping spiritual periods present a unique opportunity for unity, reflection, and peaceful coexistence.

According to him, Lent and Ramadan are seasons that emphasize sacrifice, self-discipline, compassion, and devotion to God, values that should strengthen relationships across religious lines rather than divide us.

“These sacred periods remind us of our shared humanity, our duty to God, and our responsibility to live in peace with one another,” he said.

The frontline aspirant stressed the need for tolerance, respect, and genuine brotherhood, noting that harmony between Christians and Muslims remains vital for the progress and stability of society.

He called on adherents of both religions to use the period to pray for peace, justice, and development in Yagba Federal Constituency and the nation at large.

“Beyond fasting and prayers, this is a time to show kindness, extend support to the less privileged, and build bridges of understanding,” he added.

The APC aspirant further encouraged religious leaders, community stakeholders, and youths to promote dialogue, unity, and peaceful engagement, especially in a time when national cohesion is critical.

He wished Christians a spiritually fulfilling Lenten season and Muslims a peaceful Ramadan.
