An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Kogi, Engr. Edward Olatunji Meseko, has called on Nigerians to use the ongoing Ramadan and Lenten seasons to pray fervently for the peace, unity and prosperity of the country.

Meseko made the call in a statement issued on Wednesday, urging both Muslims and Christians to dedicate the sacred periods to seeking divine intervention for Nigeria’s socio-economic and security challenges.

According to him, the seasons of fasting and prayer offer unique opportunities for sober reflection, spiritual renewal and supplication for national healing.

“The periods of Ramadan and Lent are not only times for fasting and devotion, but also seasons to intercede for our dear country. Nigeria needs our collective prayers now more than ever,” he said.

He appealed to citizens, irrespective of religious and political affiliations, to embrace tolerance, love and mutual understanding, noting that national development could only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and unity.

Meseko further encouraged leaders at all levels to govern with the fear of God and a deep sense of responsibility, adding that selfless service remained the cornerstone of sustainable development.

He wished Muslims and Christians a peaceful and rewarding season of fasting, expressing optimism that the prayers offered during the period would usher in renewed hope and progress for the nation.
