By Musa Bakare.
As Nigeria approaches 2027, the greatest threat is not merely the intensity of the elections, but the entrenched interests determined to resist meaningful change. The true enemies of Nigeria are not foreign agents or imaginary conspiracies; they are internal, powerful, organized, and desperate to preserve a broken system.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu now stands at the heart of a historic confrontation: reform versus sabotage. Long before the coming of APC and President Tinubu, public office was treated as a private estate, elections became conquests, governance was sidelined, and impunity became the norm. Those who thrived in this disorder now fear the reforms President Tinubu champions.
Another formidable enemy is institutional rot. Compromised regulators, distorted procurement processes, and delayed justice have weakened the Nigerian state. Asiwaju Tinubu’s reform agenda threatens this ecosystem of privilege, provoking coordinated resistance from those benefiting from the decay.
There is also the manufactured poverty, a product of failed policies and elite comfort. A poor population is easier to manipulate; a desperate electorate serves the interest of political merchants. President Tinubu’s insistence on tough economic reforms has revealed an undeniable truth: recovery demands sacrifice, not slogans.
Nigeria also suffers from divisive politics. Ethnic and religious differences are weaponized to distract citizens while a few monopolize the nation’s resources. Tinubu’s national outlook challenges this old game, making unity and performance, not identity the new political currency.
As 2027 draws near, we must redefine patriotism. True patriotism is not noise; it is courage. It is backing reform while demanding results. It means standing with the party APC and the leader President Tinubu who confronts difficult truths rather than pander to comfort.
The real enemies of Nigeria have been exposed and they are uneasy. President Tinubu’s battle is not just for re election; it is for the very soul of the Nigerian state.
The choice for 2027 is clear: reform or regression, courage or convenience, Nigeria or the cabal.
